Metal Stamping Bracket Process Technology Analysis: Core Advantages of Integrated Stamping Forming vs Traditional Welded Structure

In the field of industrial structural supporting hardware, metal brackets are mainly divided into two production processes: integrated die stamping forming and manual mechanical welding forming. Although the two types of brackets are similar in appearance and installation method, there are essential differences in internal structural stress, load-bearing performance, vibration resistance and service life, which directly determine their applicable industrial scenarios and long-term use stability. In low-demand civil scenarios, traditional welded brackets still have a certain cost advantage; but in industrial equipment manufacturing, outdoor engineering construction, automated production matching and other high-standard scenarios, integrated stamping brackets have become the only reliable choice recognized by the global industry.

First of all, from the perspective of production process and structural integrity, the integrated stamping bracket adopts one-time die stamping and cold bending forming. The whole product has no splicing gaps, no welding points and no rivet connection traces. The metal fiber structure of the sheet metal is continuous and complete without being destroyed by secondary processing. In contrast, the welded bracket is formed by cutting multiple steel plates and then splicing and welding. The welding process will destroy the original metal fiber structure of the steel plate, resulting in structural stress concentration at the welding seam. After long-term use, micro-cracks are easy to appear at the welding position, which gradually expand under vibration and load, and finally lead to structural fracture and bracket failure.

Secondly, in terms of vibration resistance and fatigue resistance, stamping brackets have absolute advantages. Modern industrial equipment is in a continuous micro-vibration working state for a long time, and engineering equipment will bear alternating load and impact load during operation. Welded brackets have poor anti-vibration fatigue performance. The welding seam is the weakest structural part. Under long-term vibration, the welding seam is prone to virtual welding, desoldering and cracking, resulting in equipment support loosening and equipment operation failure. The integral stamping bracket has uniform overall stress, no weak structural points, stable elastic deformation and stress dispersion performance, and can withstand tens of thousands of times of alternating vibration and load impact without structural deformation and failure, fully adapting to the long-term stable operation of industrial equipment.

In terms of batch consistency and assembly interchangeability, stamping brackets are far superior to welded products. Welded brackets are mostly processed manually or semi-mechanically, with large artificial errors in welding angle, welding position and plate splicing gap. The dimensional deviation of different batches of products is large, and the interchangeability is poor, which cannot meet the assembly requirements of automated production lines. The stamping bracket is formed by fixed mold positioning, with fully unified bending angle, hole spacing and overall dimensions. The batch dimensional tolerance is highly consistent, the product interchangeability is strong, and it can perfectly adapt to large-scale standardized assembly and modular equipment matching.

In terms of surface anti-corrosion performance and service life, stamping brackets have more stable performance. The surface of welded brackets is prone to welding slag, welding scar and uneven oxide layer. The uneven surface leads to inconsistent anti-corrosion coating, and the welding seam is easy to form corrosion gaps, causing internal rust and accelerating product scrapping. The stamping bracket has a smooth and flat surface after deburring and finishing. The hot-dip galvanized and stainless steel surface layers are uniform and dense, without corrosion dead ends, and the overall anti-rust and anti-aging performance is significantly improved, with a service life more than twice that of traditional welded brackets.

In actual procurement and application scenarios, low-load and static civil decoration and ordinary building supporting scenarios can appropriately select cost-effective welded brackets; while key scenarios such as mechanical equipment fixing, power engineering supporting, outdoor infrastructure, intelligent equipment assembly and vibrating equipment connection must adopt integrated stamping brackets to ensure long-term operational stability of the project and equipment. With the continuous improvement of global industrial manufacturing standards, integrated stamping brackets will fully popularize in the industrial field and become the standard configuration of modern industrial structural hardware
